Rossland Ski Day

This past weekend, while in town for the Christmas festivities, Dad/Dorothy and I went for a Ski. We did 7 runs total in a couple of hours and then finished up the day socializing in the Ski Hill's bar, Rafters, with Dad&Dorothy's ski buddies. The snow was great and the sun was shining the whole day. I tried to take some photos of the ski mountain-but the photos don't do it enough justice.
Christmas with the Chernoff's

Last year I was able to take part in a Chrismtas party on my Stepmom's side of the family. This year I was fortunate enough to return. We all got together this past Saturday for Christmas Dinner, attendance was: Dad, Stepmom (Dorothy), Stepbrother (Will), Stepsister-in-law (Stacey), Stepsister (Amanda), Stepbrother-in-law (Pat) & Stepniece (Kirah-daughter of Amanda&Pat). The meal was cooked by Dorothy and it was mouth watering. After dinner we all went over to Connie's house (Dorothy's niece) for deserts&wine. I had a good time and several people remembered me from the year before-so I was good to go. Troy couldn't make this trip and his presance was missed.
Christmas Tree Hunting

Troy and I were invited to go with his sister and brother-in-law to go and hunt for a Christmas tree. Unfortunately Troy was unable to make it, so I went to secure us a tree. Troy's in-law's Parents came for their tree as well and it was a lot of fun. We made a day of it and collected three trees. We were to follow up the victory with hotdogs and beer, unfortunately the men incharge forgot the matches, firewood, firestarters.. ect:) So.. we used a built in truck lighter with toilet paper and 30minutes later we had lunch:) A few days later I cohersed Troy into decorating our fake tree because I just couldn't wait any longer:) The experience was still awesome and hopefully next year Troy will be able to come along and pick out the prize tree:)
When You Wore a Tulip (Sad News)

As the title states, this is a sad post. Troy and I had gone out to see a movie in theatres called "Happy Feet" and it was absolutely hilarious and very well done. Sad part is-throughout the movie Troy's cell kept vibrating on him and at the end of the movie we found a message from my Grandma-asking me to call her asap. I suspected the worst and hoped for the best, turns out my suspision was correct-unfortunately. We went to Kelowna immediately for my Grandpa Lansdowne's Funeral that was to be held on December 1st/06. The whole family was there and we were able to share our griefs. The Grandkids were asked to sing a song that we always sang with Grandpa-called "When You Wore a Tulip"-but we couldn't, so instead those of us that could muster up a voice took part in reading from a poem called "Footsteps in the Sand". The service was beautifully done and afterwards we all headed back to the house for a toast and some beer in celebration of our Grandpa/Father/Husband/Brother/Uncle/Friend's life. My Stepmom, Dorothy, created the Eulogy that was inspired by all and put to words by Dorothy-it was perfect. My Dad, Aunt and us Grandchildren each wore a tie from Grandpa's collection as a tribute.
